About the project
LifeDev Primary Care Digital Initiative is a healthcare workforce development programme designed to strengthen the digital capacity of primary healthcare workers and support the effective use of technology within frontline health services.
As healthcare systems increasingly adopt digital tools, electronic reporting platforms and health information systems, the people expected to use these technologies need the knowledge and confidence to use them effectively. The initiative focuses on practical digital skills that can support everyday healthcare delivery, data collection, reporting and decision-making.
The programme is being developed around areas such as digital health literacy, health information systems, electronic data collection, data quality, mobile health tools, technology-enabled workflows, responsible AI and data protection.
Beyond training individuals, the initiative is intended to support wider health systems strengthening by helping facilities make better use of digital tools and health information.
The project forms part of LifeDev Impact and is currently open to collaboration with governments, Primary Health Care Boards, healthcare organisations, development partners, universities and other organisations working to strengthen primary healthcare.
